Tourney Grounds - Pacitta City - Pacitta

The tournament grounds stand ready for use at a moment's notice. The stands are setup with the well-to-do sitting in the center, with the best seats, and for any courtiers present. A half canopy has been established to help keep the shade in the area and protect from any of the elements, a thick leather trim going across the area where the VIPs are sitting raised up about fifty feet and supported by heavy wooden poles and tethers tying it. The benches have been formed of thick wood in the gallery, with lesser galleries set to the side for commoners, guards, and those who are watching and not immediately involved over in the arena. There are roughly eight rows of seats set up for the commoners stretching off the full length of the viewing gallery, and roughly three rows thick for the VIPs to sit upon. Among the rows are those who are bringing beverage and refreshments.

The arena is dusty, a pit formed in the ground which has been dug down flat with padded dirt roughly two feet down from the main tents, the incline designed to give the crowd a better view. The center of the arena betray tell-tale markings where it is apparent that the rail for jousts could be set, if not set already. The dirt is thick and solid, packed down as firmly and evenly as it can be to ensure good footing. From the opposite ends of the exhibition pavilions are a pair of berths where the combatants would enter from and where judges and guards would otherwise sit, as well as attendants to quickly go and tend to the injured or break apart the combatants should it be necessary. The main pit is larger than the pavilions, being roughly fifty horse lengths wide, enough for all the combatants to have plenty of room to brawl without being so spread out that the main viewing area would risk losing track of them.

The tourney grounds are less populated than they were a couple of days ago. However, there is still a sizable crowd present to observe the non-knightly competition. Book makers are off taking bets as the competition gets ready to start.

The royal boxes are relatively empty, no monarchs are here but a few councillors from both councils are present. Samwell Marchette, the proxy for his father, sits among them, waiting and watching to see what will come of this contest, for while nothing in the grand scheme of points rides on it, it certainly is lucrative and worth paying attention to. Not too far from him, in the closest thing to a Pacittan royal box, is the Chancellor himself, along with the Captain-General and the Admiral of Pacitta, each followed by a few bottles of choice wine into the box to observe the contest.

The rest of the stands are open for individuals to sit in and observe, with prime real estate available that normally would be taken by people waiting hours before the contest.

Alina l'Saigner sits in the stands, looking amused. Her husband and her brother will be competing in this one— so she looks forward to watching them, at some point, beat the holy hell out of each other for sport. Ah, l'Saigners.

The tourney judge, a man in all black, gestures to Lord Jonathan and Lord Lucas. "You'll be up first," he says quickly. "Good, clean fight out of you both." He bows a bit and steps back from the ring to allow them to begin their fight.

Right. Good, clean fighting. That's exactly what these Pacitta crowds value, isn't it?

Among the crowd and looking a bit more chipper this morning (though no less pale or frazzled) is Lorelei Asheflour. She's still choosing to stand with the rest of the commoners, though she's less like a sardine today, given the lower turnout. Clad in the same clothes she's been wearing, she grips the fence, leaning on it and waiting for the fists to start flying.

Evelyn l'Faust, the winner of the bareknuckle competition at the celebration of the l'Sainger wedding-Masque is some betters will find when they go up to place their bets, not on the listing. She is, however, in the stands, relaxing a little and certainly by her expression, very interested in the competition that is to come. She's found herself next to one Emilia Cassomir, and the rather boisterous Knight and noblewoman asks of Emilia, "Who do you think will be winning? My money is on Lucas l'Sainger." Afterall, she bested him in that aforementioned match.

Talia t'Corbeau is sitting in the higher tiers, with her husband, Dominic. She tells him, casually while waiting for a servant to pour her a glass of wine, "I would dearly love to see you in one of these competitions, someday soon, Dominic." She smiles, warmly, to her husband. "A woman does enjoy seeing her husband's prowess, afterall."

Tiadora is in the noble boxes, watching the brawl with interest as it's more common in more rugged Normont. She and her guards observe with casual evaluations of the brawlers.

Lucas vaults the wooden ring landing softly inside. The young wraith is stripped to the waist, exposing a chest that is collection of scars ragged brutal scars. He nods to the judge's warning then turns to Jonathan giving the man a slight nod while he sized him up. Whatever it is Lucas sees in his foe, he approaches him with caution, at first, circling to get a further measure of of the man.

Gastogne is up in the commoner's section of the stands then, watching as the first round is exchanged then, whistling over from his vantage point and enjoying the view.

Jonathan t'Maren, for his part, is prepared to beat the pulp out of his opponent in the most proper and honorable manner possible. Given that his opponent is one of the feared Wraiths, and the son of the Hawk of Lonnaire besides, it's entirely likely that he'll be facing a different sort of warrior, but no matter. Dressed in short pants and little else, a choice of attire that displays a rather massive scar on his side, he turns to face Lucas in a simple stance, hands hanging loose at his sides, head dipping in a little nod as his eyes meet the younger man's.

Settled once more in the stands is Emilia Cassomir, though this time her cousin sits with her rather then competing in this particular contest. A nodding going along to Tiadora in seeing her again present,"Of pleasant to be seeing of again, Lady of Tiadora." Her eyes briefly flitting towards the field to see the first competitors are. Sitting up just a touch when she actually knows one of them.

Tiadora smiles back at the Cassomir hunters and even waves a little before tuning back to watch the shirtless young men brawl. With all upmost respect for their skills and nothing more, of course.

Graham looks on to Emilia and smiles "How's your arms cousin." he must mean from practice the previous days. He will look to those who start off the fighting though he looks back smiling to Tia. "Lady Tia, it is good to see you as always." the comment made and then he'll turn back though still paying attention should either speak to him in return.

Gabriel l'Saigner watches as Jonathan and Lucas get called out first. A part of him is glad that he doesn't have to go and fight Lucas first. It will give him a chance to watch both men and their styles, hopefully giving him an edge down the road. That doesn't mean he won't be wary of his own opponent. Taking in a breath, he rolls his shoulders and continues to loosen up.

Raimond Giraldi waits on the sidelines, bouncing on the balls of his feet and waiting to see how the first match turns out. He knows such brawling isn't his forte, but it's his hometown, more or less, it just seems proper that he should compete. For now though, he watches the exchange between Jonathan and Lucas intently…and isn't feeling good about his chances, even if he refuses to let it show.

The woman speaking next to Emilia actually gets just a mild rise of the brow, some hint of surprise perhaps of those stoic features. A small nod is given to Evelyn,"Have not of seen both of fight of before, though I would be wishing for Lord of Lucas to win of the match." Strange thing perhaps for a Huntress to wish for…a Wraith to win. A glance towards Graham as Emilia answers,"They are doing of fine, were a little of sore of first thing. But feel of fine now." Her eyes going back to the field and taking in the shirtless men, all very sotically.

The young lady Gerrell waves to Graham although not as enthusiastically due to what would be considered proper. "I'm doing my best to represent our people in the games. The stands, at least."

When push comes to shove, as it were, Jonathan t'Maren is pure power. He knows how to strike hard and fast, but his ability to duck and weave is… well, not terrible by any objective standard, but not quite a match for the young Wraith's well-honed technique. Lucas rains down well-struck blows upon his torso - but his aggression pays off, to a certain extent, when he delivers a powerful punch to his right arm. A little grimace, and he takes a step back, eyes fixed on the Wraith, sizing him up for the next exchange.

Gastogne watches as the strong blows are exchanged, and he watches with interest as the good back and forth on the ground continues, calling out for the hometown son as the punches go well for Jonathan!

Damn does he hit hard! Lucas had been right to be cautious of Jonathan t'Maren, but he had done his own damage too, three solid hits with fists and feet. It would be a good fight. Lucas allows a smile as he moves on the balls of his feet, getting in close to strike again, ready to move back if needs be.

While Evelyn is not nearly as stoic as those women seated with her, she is at least remembering her noble heritage. She considers Emilia's words, nodding, "So do I. I've got coin riding on him." She looks unashamed at that confession, however, and offers to the Cassomir Huntress and Lady, "Evelyn l'Faust. I -would- be competing, but I want to make a better run at the full Tourney matches this time around."

Raimond nods slightly as the first match comes to its' conclusion. Impressive fighting on both sides. Now here's hoping he doesn't embarrass himself in this next contest. He moves to the pit, taking up a basic fighting stance, and inclines his head to Gabriel, "Well, here's hoping I fare better against your fists than I did your blade, Sir." He offers a faint smile, and then waits for the match to begin.

Jonathan is a little more cautious, this time around, but it seems that that caution is not quite enough. Lucas lands a lucky shot on his leg, and though it's not an overly powerful blow in itself, it's delivered well enough to throw him off-balance. Grimacing, he collapses to his feet, raising a hand in a gesture of yielding.

Fortunately, it's just the one round. Not an auspicious start, but Jon is back on his feet shortly thereafter and making his way to the rear, the better to watch Raimond and Gabriel in the next bout.

Is anyone as stoic as the woman sitting next to Evelyn? Emilia nods a touch to Evelyn,"Have not placed any of coin upon the tournament of events of yet….Is of a pleasure to be of meeting Sir of Evelyn. Emilia Cassomir," is offered in return. "Of aye, have seen of compete before. you did of well of the other day." Her dark eyes taking in the action below. Her brows rising just a little as Jonathan goes down and Lucas does win this round," Lord of Lucas did of well."

Arriving late and adjusting his collar as if he just finished getting dressed in the carriage on the way here, Titus slips into the stands quietly and scans the crowd for a familiar face.

Gabriel watches Lucas and Jonathan exchange blows, but he isn't surprised that Lucas wins. He knows well how much training in such combat that Lucas does. He offers a congratulatory nod to his goodbrother and then steps forward into the pit, rolling his shoulders once and then taking his stance. "Best of luck to you, Sir. I would feel better with a sword or lance in hand, but alas." He gives a small smile and then readies for the word to start.

"That is good, we'll continue soon, then i've found among that gear that traveled with me the lance i'd spoken of." Graham he says which is good news. Graham nods to Tia "You are doing very well so far Lady Tia, you are allowed to enjoy your self at the games though it is meant to be sport indeed." He looks back as another knight speaks "Sir Evelyn, its good to see you once more perhaps we shall meet in the joust or duels." he says friendly. He looks abck to see the ending punch and claps politely for the enxt round.

Caution it seems paid off for the Wraith, he weathered a few more blows, but his kick to the leg knocked Jonathan from his feet. When the other man yields, Lucas nods, mouthing "Good match," before he clears the field to let the next contestants take their places.

Eh, Lorelei's pretty stoic. That's kind of her calling card. And as proof, she doesn't even blink when Jon hits the ground. Her jaw works slightly as she grinds her teeth together, but she says and does nothing, eyes following him as he leaves the rin to defer to the flamboyant Giraldi and the winner of the free-for-all the day before. That looks interesting.

Tiadora claps politely for the first match. She turns back to Evelyn as they set up for the next bout and smiles shyly. "Lady Tiadora Gerrell, of Normont." She puts a dimple in her round cheeks as she offers the greeting. "Women box? I'm getting used to seeing it being more common outside home."

"Down goes Raimond, down goes Raimond!" Yells one of the barkers as one book maker is soon rushed by an individual who yells "You owe me, Mark. I put down five hammers that someone would go down in one punch."

Stepping forward, Gabriel lets Raimond swing first. He turns slightly and lets Raimond swing down, it is harder than he would have thought, and he lets out a grunt. Gritting his teeth, he raises his fist and hits the man as hard as he can, seeing an opportunity to land a good hit. He connects and then watches Raimond drop. Letting out a breath, he gives the man a hand up. "Sorry about that." He says softly and then makes way for the next bout.

Well…that was…brief. While Raimond lands a quite solid blow on Gabriel's arm, Gabriel's own strike is just as potent, and unfortunately for Raimond, sends him to the ground rather soundly, and knocking his head hard against the dirt, which seems to daze him long enough that it's "down and out" for Raimond. He gets up shaking the cobwebs out of his head and sighing, "It seems you had little to fear, Sir Gabriel." And then Raimond steps aside to well…take the few moments' breather he gets between matches."

Gastogne watches as the combatants exchange themselves, and then goes over to watch the next array then, eating a large meat on a stick.. Which falls onto his lap as he moves ot take a bite. GAH!

Jonathan watches the second bout with interest, hoping to learn something of note about his next opponent, but it seems he won't be learning much at all. Blink and you'll miss it. There's a little, subdued grin as he returns to the arena, facing Raimond as he did Lucas, still cautious, but perhaps a little less so. A respectful nod, and he permits the Rivanan to catch his breath before moving forward.

Emilia makes a wrble of her hand at Graham,"Of aye…or when of returned of home, as I know you have of the tournament events to focus of upon as well." Keeping a stoic gaze turned upon the new match…and a blink as it does not last very long at all. "Oh..of my….that was of fast."

Evelyn winces in sympathy for Raimond, shaking her head. She says faintly, "Reminds me of my first fight in the bareknuckle. Thought I was halfway decent. Found out I wasn't. Back then." She clears her throat, looks up towards Graham, "Sir Graham. Perhaps we shall at that. I'll not forget, soon, your showing at the Tourney of last, however. And I do not shy away from a challenge." She grins at him, kindheartedly before looking back to Emilia. "You're kind for saying so. But one thing I've learened in the last two years is I have still yet a lot to learn." And that sentiment doesn't seem to bother her one bit.

Graham nods "Either way cousin the study is important." He comments though turns back to Tia and nods "That they do, perhaps not as many but they are fierce and ever as strong competitors likely to win as any other." he speaks of the woman who box in the match. He looks back to Evelyn and nods to her. "It will be an honor, and challenges are always good things." he speaks lightly and friendly to the other Knight

A moment, and no more. When Jonathan goes at the southerner, he swings with all his might, delivering two decent blows to his head and one glancing hit to the arm. His own arm is nicked along the way, but he barely even notices. The adrenaline flow means the aches from his previous bout are nothing more than a distant memory. He locks eyes with the Giraldi knight for a moment, and it's readily apparent that he intends to finish things quickly.

Well…this is not going well at all. Raimond is beginning to think this whole "Your face to opponents' fist" technique is perhaps not the best strategy…not that it's one that he's undertaking voluntarily. And aside from a trifling strike in the first exchange, he can't seem to so much as land a strike on the t'Maren knight. But he keeps trying nevertheless.

The corners of Emilia's lips tug faintly as she gives Evelyn a glance,"Think everyone is always having of lots to of learn. For there is always of more to be of learning." Dark eyes take in this next round of action,"Seems the Sir of Raimond is…a bit of off after that of hit." There is agreement tossed Graham's way,"Of aye, I am knowing study and practice is of important."

Tiadora winces. Raimond didn't duck that one. She hisses a breath in through her teeth.

Alina is still too busy trying not to laugh over her husband's one punch knock-down several minutes prior. But when the Rivanan seems to be staying up in his second bout.

Evelyn gives Emilia a slightly curious look; a look which Emilia likely is used to and summed up in the sentiment of 'What an odd way of speaking', but that looks is quickly out shadowed by a grin to Emilia, nodding, "I think Sir Raimond is going to remember this for quite some time." She seems amused, to some degree. "I do love a good fight."

For a moment, Raimond is quite convinced he's finished, as in an attempt to keep from getting punched in the face, he just gets punched in the throat instead. But there's always, as they say, a puncher's chance, and even as that strike hits his neck, his own lands solidly right into Jonathan's midsection. The breadbasket, one might say. But after it connects, he staggers back a bit, coughing a touch.

The look Evelyn gives her is indeed one Emilia is quite used to, though there is no sign that Emilia even notices it. Her stoic mein remaining quite solemn even as she watches the bare chested men below. There is just a faint uptick of a brow when it seem that Raimond pulls it off in the end after wiffing those first couple punches,"I believe you are of right…It might be one he and of others remember for awhile."

The round little noblewoman gasps at the unexpected turn of the match. "Sir…Raimond you said?" Tiadora looks to the other ladies to confirm. "Good hit Sir Raimond! Well done!"

It's all going so well. Jonathan isn't hitting as hard as he can, but he's hitting hard enough, his next blow hitting Raimond right in the neck. And then, in an error he'll likely be cursing for nights to come, he leaves his stance open.

The next blow hits him right in the midsection, not a hard one, but it strikes him in just the right spot, and he staggers back. This time, he doesn't make a point of yielding. He's too bewildered to do anything but stagger off the field.

Lucas watched Jonathan and the Rivanan's fight with interest and a little bit of pity. The poor southerner really didn't have much of a-

Jonathan is down.

Lucas blinks. "What in the Abyss…" still he couldn't not applaud the victory, even if he certainly didn't understand it.

Soon enough however, it is his turn and Lucas leaps back into the ring. "Brother," he greets with a slight smile, then steps into a fighting stance and a cautious one at that, he wasn't about to underestimate the Champion of Couviere.

Gastogne watches over in confusion as the man he was cheering for.. What happened? ALl he can do is /wince/ over and hope that they have some healers on standby, having not got a good view over of the exchange of blows.

Graham nods to his cousin's words about training and smiles "It is indeed." he looks back to the field as the contest continues. He will clap along with the others for the winner in the next group. He looks about to see the others in the stands now as he waits for the next to begin.

"By the One, that was a good hit. Lucky, maybe. But a good hit is all that matters, in the end. Lucky or not," Evelyn says, with some appreciation. She laughs, just a little, at Emilia's words, noting with warmth, "No. I don't think anyone will," she conceeds. "But I'll wager that shan't repeat itself again. Luck has it's part. But, when I said he reminded me of myself awhile ago, I meant that. I didn't have any -real- skill, just some basic fundamentals. He's maybe a bit better than I was, when I came to competition. But, … the new Lord l'Sainger and Lucas l'Sainger are both far, far more able than he. I spent a winter with them. I ought to know." She chuckles, gravely, confiding to Emilia and those who will listen, "Boredom sets in. And you look for things to keep you busy. Sparring is one of those things."

Gabriel squares off against his brother. Damn. He was not looking forward to this. "Good luck, Lucas." He decides that the best offense is to move fast and hard. He takes Lucas' punch on his chest and then swings back, his fist connecting with Lucas' jaw. He continues moving and swinging, finally landing another hit on his brother's chest and knocking him down. Helping him back up, he pats him on the shoulder. "Sorry about that hit in the head, but win the next bout eh? Let's make sure Alina goes home happy tonight with a l'Saigner victor." He grins and then leaves the pit so the next bout can happen.

By the time Lucas and Gabriel, newly minted brothers-in-law, square off against one another, Jonathan has recovered enough to set his eyes on the match. Even if he's a little haunted by his loss - it wasn't /supposed/ to go this way - it's one event among many. There are somewhat more pressing things than the bareknuckle on his mind, even now…

But back to the bout, whcih he watches with great interest. Lucas is the more practiced barehand fighter, clearly, but the Red Knight's sheer, overpowering force is too much for him, at least this time around. It's a solid hit that ends a solid round, and he gives a bit of perfunctory applause.

Lucas is rocked early by the blow to the head. It leaves him dazed and bloody and it isn't much of a fight after that. Lucas lands on his back in the dirt and groans. "One, are you half ice-bear? You hit like they do," he says as he gets to his feet, grinning despite the blood running from his nose. He gives Gabe's words a nod. "I'll do my best," then he jumps out of the ring to get his head tended to.

Tiadora widens her blue eyes in surprise. This was a fast and brutal match. She lets out an excited cheer and claps. She has no clue who these men are, but the excitement of the match is easy to get caught up in. She flashes Evelyn an odd look once the bout is cleared. "I just read in the winter. Hitting someone for boredom seems a bit violent, doesn't it?

Well, the Red Knight certainly seems to be living up this reputation, doesn't he? Raimond watches the next battle, and shakes his head slightly in disbelief at how swiftly it ends. No rest for the bruised, it seems, and so Raimond moves back to the fighting ring, after giving Lucas a few moments to recover. He takes up a more defensive posture this time, perhaps not looking to end up with his eyes swollen shut and his nose broken before the duels and joust, eh? "Well met, Lord l'Saigner. And good luck. While I'd suspect you've little need of it…it does seem like one of those nights." He gives the man a nod, and then waits for the battle to begin.

Lucas doesn't have long to be tended to and is soon back in the ring against the Rivanan. He nods, to the man, and then takes a combat stance.

As Lucas goes down, Evelyn nearly stand up, but remembers herself, and shakes her head, "By the One, Lucas. You'd better come back and win this, or you're owing me a cask of ale," she swears at him, despite her being up high in the stands. Something Tiadora says catches her ears though, and she turns to the other woman sitting on Emilia's other side, ventures, "No. It was practice. So we wouldn't get dull. It's like keeping your blade sharp, sparring. You keep your body sharp. Ready. Never knew when the barbarians were going to rush us, try to break through our encampment."

The Lily Knight will cheer at the groups as they continue on. "That was quite a good fight indeed." Graham looks to his cousin "Still rounds to go though." he speaks given what she'd said for the man fighting he looks back to Tia and smiles "It is good to see you enjoying the sport indeed." He claps though turns around and will watch the next fighters.

"Very of lucky," agrees Emilia with Evelyn," And luck does have of way of being of fickle. But makes of these much of interesting as of well." Her eyes watch the action below as she yet listens on to the chatty noble beside her. "Oh of aye..winter causes of boredom and much of practice and sparring." There is a blink though at the rather powerful hit that Lucas seems to take to the head. It is really little wonder after that sort of hit that Lucas soon is out as well. "That had to be of hurting." Watching though as Lucas has to go right back into another match, a mild shake of her head. That would be a rough one to shake off. Though he seems to be managing.

Gastogne watches at the next exchange of blows, having gotten himself some ale then to drink as he goes to watch and crane his neck over at the further exchange of melee.

And then the next round begins, and Raimond's defensive posture seems to serve him well at first, narrowly avoiding Lucas' first strike and countering with a solid one of his own. A glancing blow to his chest is all-but-ignored as he lands a hard strike to Lucas' arm, but then it's Raimond's turn for an ineffectual strike, rendered all the more so when he gets punched in the neck. Again. Ow. But he's still standing, wonder of wonders. Not that he's entirely counting on being so for much longer, but nevertheless he presses on, maintaining his stance and moving in for the next exchange.

Blows land on both sides, and Lucas backs away bloody, but smiling. This was turning out to be a real competition. He is wary though, and tired, and so circles his opponent for a bit before committing to his next strike, trying to end the fight in one more blow.

Tiadora blushes as Graham calls her on it. "It's be… Be rude if I-I didn't cheer. Right?" She folds her hands in her lap and gives a tiny hesitant smile.

"It would be rude if you didnt, yes. I cheer for all even those who beat me its a sign of respect and shows your honor." Graham says in agreement with her he smiles in return not wanting to be the cause for her to clam up. He looks back to the fight as each land a punch on one another. He nods to Emilia "I am sure it did hurt indeed."

Watching his goodbrother and the Giraldi punch the shit out of each other, Gabriel is both amused and amazed at how much of a fight that the Giraldi is putting up. Oh sure, he had been surprised by Raimond's performance against Jonathan, but this? This was completely unexpected. After the first time the two knock each other flat, he stands there wondering what is going to happen. Then the second time happens and the two men just lay there. Sighing, he glances up in the stands where Alina might be, and then comes into the pit and tosses Lucas over a shoulder. "Alright, come on." He says to the man, carrying him out and then to the side so he can be seen to and receive some water or something.

Lucas is down again, he groans as much from disappointment as pain, and he is a great deal of pain. There is cheering, and he can see people standing, others are pointing. One of the game martial grabs his arm, "Get up!" he shouts. "Get up!". Lucas obliges getting to his feet, and his foe is doing the same. Had they both gone down? Lucas grins drunkenly, the marshals shout for the fight to begin and Gabriel wades into a sea of punches and kicks, he doesn't know how bad he hurts his foe, or really even how bad he's being hurt, at least until that last blow. Lucas's head snaps back from a punch even as his knife hand strikes home, and then blackness, and the roar of the crowd filling his ears as he hits the dirt. His eyes flicker open, and he reaches for the fence to lift himself up, but it's too far, and he's just too tired. Too sore. "I'll just rest," he murmurs into the dirt as he lets his hand fall before Gabriel carries him away.

Well then! Another flurry of blows, and after just a couple more, Raimond finds himself on his back, half-senseless from exhaustion and the accumulated bruises. But when he raises his head up, he sees his opponent on the ground as well! What in the One's name is going on here? He manages to push himself to his feet slowly, looking around, and seeing Lucas regaining his own feet. He moves back to the center of the ring, vaguely hearing voices urging the fight to continue, and so he lunges at Lucas again, and for the next several moments, it's very much two weary boxers barely landing punches on each other, most either falling short, or ineffectually hitting the leather padding they wear. And then…AGAIN to the neck! Raimond sees…well, not stars, more like a brief blackout, even as he vaguely recalls his own hand making a terrific impact on….something. He's not quite sure what. Indeed, he's barely conscious, and looking a bloody mess with an already quite visibly-bruised neck when he slightly raises his head, and makes an attempt to get to his feet that miserably fails, simply lying back down and trying to catch his breath and regain some more solid sense of consciousness. Ow. OwOwOw.

There is a nod along to Tiadora,"Of aye, is of good form to be of cheering," or well in Emilia's case it is usually clapping," for of the fights and competitors." Though her eyes do widen just a hint when this latest round between Raimond and Lucas seems to be going on for several…matches as the pair knock each other out…multiple times. Sitting up a bit more in her seat at this rather long fight that…just wow. And yet, all Emilia does in the end is…clap. Perhaps a bit spiritedly for the good show the two men put on. But her expression seems to retain that usual solemn bent to it.

Tiadora is on her feet, leaping up at the excitement. First they both fall and she roars, joining the meager crowd in excitement. "Get up! Get up!" It's directed to both of them. And they give it another match… And then down they go! She bounces excitedly on her feet. She gasps when they both go down again.

"Lucas, you should have won," remarks Evelyn with a wry laugh. She nods to Emilia, "If you'll excuse me? It was a pleasure meeting you! And you, Lady." This to Tia. "Sir Graham." She rises, smoothly and bows, seeming in a decent enough mood besides having lost some measure of coin in her bet. She shakes her head, and begins to make her way down to the fighters circle.

Graham looks to the match when this one goes on quite a while and they manage to get up from the first knock down. "I dont think i've seen a match quite like this." The two square off and continue going at it for a bit while longer neither landing solid blows until the last. He sits forward himself and shakes his head. "A great match." he will indeed clap and cheer for the two though such an odd result. He looks back to Tia but doesnt speak just smiles before turning back around.

Jonathan t'Maren has seen a great many fights in his years, but he must admit, this is the strangest way he's ever seen an event draw to a close. The Red Knight, then, is the victor by default - a strange way to win, but victory is victory. And so there are cheers, perfunctory ones, both for the two combatants who are now rather the worse for wear, and to the one who is still standing, unbowed and unbroken.

Eventually, someone gets down to the fighting ring to help carry Raimond out of there. Likely Giraldi kin who…look a little worried about his condition.

When the young l'Saigner lordling and the young Giraldi lordling duke it out and knock each other flat the first time, some enterprising soul is wise enough to bring in a healer or two (well, to be fair, there are always a couple standing by during the bareknuckle competition just in case).

When the two men drop a second time and don't get up, that seems like a good idea, though in the stands, the High Chancellor and another man in the solid black of the Circuit are arguing about something, and after Lucas has been carried off (and a healer intercepts them to tend to him) and Raimond has been dragged to the side (with another healer tending him), finally the Circuit official aruging with Mancini turns away and lets forth a loud whistle to be heard over the roaring crowd—

One and the Many, was tonight's showing something spectacular. It will be talked about for days, maybe even weeks, and those who did not attend may even be jealous of those who did…

"ATTENTION PLEASE," he calls out. "It seems… we have a winner! Lord Gabriel l'Saigner is the winner of the Bareknuckle competition!" Mancini looks pleased.

The Circuit offical that had been down by the ring quickly moves towards Gabriel. "Congratu;lations!"

Gastogne goes up to rise up in applause then at the end of the bout for the winner and the participants, clapping as loud as he can, even with meat and grease on his hands.

Gabriel blinks when he is announced as the winner. It made sense, of course, but he hadn't done this to win, or at least he hadn't expected to win. He smiles at the Circuit official and then claps him on the shoulder. "Thank you. I should go find my wife now, or else she will get herself into trouble." And get this damn jerkin off. He walks away in search of Alina because she will likely be beside herself regarding Lucas.

Emilia inclines her head to Evelyn,"Of course…It was of a pleasure." Her dark eyes flitting back to the field as the rather….tenderized men are removed from the field. That just had to hurt and is going to be felt for some time. "Nor have of I, was of a good match. Something that will be much of talked about." But..just ow!!! Quieting at that loud whistle. Though another round of clapping comes when the winner is annonuced. Though it was a bit more spirited for the two men who pummeled each other black and blue.

Making her way down to the fighters, Evelyn moves along until she comes over to where Lucas is being treated for the pounding he took. Luckily, such are not as grevious as others he's taken that she's aware of. She tsks, as she comes within hearing distance, shaking her head, and asking him, "Didn't you teach me to fight better than that?" There is a warm sense of banter in her light accusation.

Lucas manages to open his eyes when Evelyn speaks, despite how battered he is, he doesn't seem in terrible spirits. "I think so, but I am having a bit of a problem remembering right now," he says. "Also, we really need to stop having you come visit me in healer's tents. It's getting to be a habit," he says.

Gastogne watches then, applauding and standing up as he looks over the remainder of the area, "Good fights, well blown and exchanged, and so many upsets.." Once again, glad he did not put any bets in

With the winner announced and the combatants taken off to be tended by the healers, the crowds disperse onwards, with much excited chatter about the added excitement that these particular round of fights have provided this time around.
