Huntress office - Ironhold - Rivana

It would take a number of days for a Huntress to get from Ironhold to Azure lake and back again, and it is exactly this amount of time that has passed, since Adrienne Cassomir left her home, for a visit to a certain Aidric Carling. The intention had been known, perhaps to her cousin Emilia, the touched Cassomir that also held the position of Mistress of the Hunt. Either way, it seems Adrienne had not tarried overly long, and has returned now on this late afternoon, in the company of a female guard that usually accompanied her on brief excursions as these. With their horses settled now in the stables, Adrienne has sent a brief note to Emilia, requesting to meet with her as soon as Emilia’s schedule would allow. The matter not being ‘of immediate gravity but perhaps of interest no less.’

The freckled Cassomir has used the opportunity, to enjoy a brief meal in the Great Hall, after splashing some water into her face and re-braiding the long dark brown tresses into the practical hairdo of a Huntress of Ironhold.

The request had been answered by Emilia noting she would be in her office for several hours yet, and Adrienne was free to come along once she had time to wash and recover that bit from the recent travel. And thus Adrienne would find her cousin in the Mistress of the Hunt's office near the training grounds and quarters of the Huntresses.

The 'touched' Huntress was currently settled behind the desk the office held. It would surprise some the amount of paperwork that came with the office. Training and recruitment, requests for aid and investigations, and the need to coordinate with the other groups within ironhold and occasionally without. All the lessons Jaren had set her to with the Steward had unexpectedly helped to prepare her for this aspect of things. Adrienne's arrival did have Emilia looking up from the latest bit of paperwork.

"Welcome of back, Adrienne. I of admit I was not of expecting you of back for another couple of days." Having been aware of Adrienne's destination and the intention, Emilia had perhaps expected Adrienne to take an extra day or so for a bit of personal time, especially with no pressing matters a foot about Ironhold. "I do of hope all is of well and your of travel went of well?" Curious perhaps, not that is showed upon the stoic expression any more than any other emotion ever seemed to do.

The note is brought while Adrienne is still in the Great Hall. And as the freckled Huntress already is somewhat cleaned from her travels, she will not tarry overly long, finishing her meal, and washing it down with a few sips from a goblet of watered wine. A knock to the door precedes the moment of her entering Emilia’s office, and it will take Adrienne a quick glance to take in the view of the paperwork piling upon the desk, before she lifts her green eyes to study her dark-eyed cousin. “Emilia,” she greets rather informally, and steps closer to give her cousin a hug. “I didn’t intend of only staying a night at Azure Lake… But there is a reason, and the notion that I am to return there soon.”, she informs, stoic expression faltering slightly to allow somewhat caught look to flash briefly in her gaze. She sits down then, one leg crossing over the other. “As for my travels, they were refreshingly uneventful. And besides, I had Deidre with me.” Her trusted female guard. “Emilia… there is a certain reason that had me rush back home. As Aidric Carling has approached me about help he needs from the Huntresses of Ironhold.”

Adrienne's approach did have Emilia shifting up from where she sat to accept and return the hug. The paperwork left aside for the time being, though a glance over those upon the top were of a forth coming training schedule, as well as a request of someone seeking to join the Huntress potentials. Settling back into her chair as a hand shifts with an airy grace towards another chair in the unspoken invitation for Adrienne. "I am of glad to hear the travel was of uneventful, even of if the trip was being shorter than of planned." Listening to what reason has brought her cousin home sooner than expected, hastening the planned time with her lover. "Oh? And what of help is Lord of Aidric seeking from of us?"

—-

“Shorter, hmm?”, the freckled Cassomir’s lips twitch into a smirk, before her features soften somewhat and she nods. “I’d expected to stay there perhaps for a bit longer than just that one day, aye.” There is a soft creak in the chair she sits upon as she shifts, leaning a little forward. “And yes. It seems, Aidric may have some trouble to deal with at Azure Lake. People have been vanishing, without a trace, or so he told me. A few craftsmen.Last one disappeared…”, she pauses, considering the time span, “about two weeks ago.”

There is just a small cant of Emilia's head that gives indication she listens attentively to what reason the Thorn Lord might wish from the Ironhold Huntresses, her expression remaining ever stoic. "I of admit, I find it slightly of odd that he would of officially seek our of help. Or is his of request perhaps not so of official?" The political intricacies of it all likely threading through Emilia's thoughts. Courtly politics were always a tangled web, both in and out of Sunsreach. "People have been of vanishing? Just poof, of gone? How many of people in of total have of gone of missing so of far?" And so the questions slip out. "What have his own of people been of doing to find the missing of craftsmen? Or of perhaps the people of leaving for reasons of their own but not wishing it to be known?" Emilia pauses for a span of a breathe,"I suppose I should be of asking just what he wishes of us in this. To of assist his own of people or something of greater?"

"Officially?" Adrienne echoes the word, brows furrowing as if she were not aware there would be implications of any kind. "Aidric needs our help, whether officially or unofficially, and he'd be happy if we grant it…" A low snort leaves the Huntress, as her arms cross before her, and she frowns. "It is… more a matter of… that he has already tried to solve the mystery on his own, and failed. He said, he'd need us Huntresses to outsmart those who… well, abduct the people in question. Or who kill them and then make the bodies vanish without a trace…" She shrugs, a stubborn sort of shrug. "It seems unlikely murder is the intent, of whoever is responsible for this… But then again, I can only assume…" Green eyes lift, and the line between her brows softens. "Four so far are missing, since Aidric is in charge and there at Azure Lake. He mentioned people going missing under Sir Tomas's supervision… it must be an old… problem, perhaps." She inhales and lets air drift out through her nose. "The way, Aidric told me, it seems unlikely the vanished people went away through their own will. They left families behind, their things… But I suppose we can only learn more of this, if you allow some Huntresses to accompany me back to Azure Lake. perhaps… you might wish to come along yourself?" The latter seems to be more of a spontaneous thought, that left Adrienne's lips without much thought.

There is just a small nod of Emilia's head at Adrienne's response and the emotions tied within it. Listening quietly as more information does come to address some of the other questions she had asked. "Four under his of watch, and then of more before when Sir of Tomas was keeping of watch? Is it of known how many in of total?" A minor flutter of her fingers,"All have been of craftsmen? Did he of mention if they went of missing while they were of at of home? Or perhaps of away from the city?" A slight pause before Emilia continues with a reasoning behind the questions,"Because if they are more of away from the city, out upon some of task for their of craft, then there will be need of trackers. Then of within the city, those to go will have different focus of skills." Another small futter and turn of her fingers occurs, a mild tracing of something unseen. "I would of hope there is more to be of learned. More that was of gleamed from Lord of Aidric's of attempts to resolve of the mystery."

—-

“I don’t know,” Adrienne replies with a faint frown. “The four is what Aidric confirmed, as for the numbers of vanished people under Sir Tomas Greycen, he wasn’t sure. It was a topic though, but a topic which Aidric had dismissed when he took over…” Her shoulders lift in a light shrug. “But after all… he does think differently now, about the whole matter. As far as I know, they vanished in town, where they were working. And while the circumstances are so mysterious, Aidric does not believe it to be caused by a curse… He thinks someone clever is pulling the strings, so this the reason why he asks us for help.” The Huntress meets Emilia’s dark gaze, her brows furrowing slightly. “The focus would be more on the town, I’d wager. And if the trail should lead into the wilderness, well, I have some tracking ability myself.” Of course. A faint confident smile tugs at the corners of Adrienne’s lips. “This is all the information I have on the matter. So… are we going to help Lord Aidric Carling?”

—-

"Of aye, I can of imagine he would not dismiss it after four have of vanished under his own of watch." Emilia gives a simple nod of her head,"But of aye, we will of help Lord of Aidric, as well as those who have become lost. And of perhaps keep others from this of fate as well." With perhaps half a wonder about how much further in debt Aidric is going to become to the Cassomirs by the end of it all. "There are more of questions that with of the One's guidance, the of answers will see us find the end of this mystery for both Lord of Aidric and Sir of Tomas." A small twitch occurs at the corners of her lips,"Though I do not of lack for tracking ability of either, it has of improved in this past of year." Something about lessons with a certain huntsman helping out there. "I will select of a few of others to go of with, and we can set on of the marrow."

—-

There is a small change in the overall mostly stoic demeanor of Adrienne Cassomir. When her cousin Emilia agrees to help Aidric, her green eyes lower for a moment, and freckled features twist into a smile. “Fine. I had hoped for you to say that. But then again…” Her chin lifts, and her gaze finds the dark eyes of the Mistress of the Hunt. “I knew you wouldn’t pass on the opportunity. Such a mystery as this needs to be solved, and if only, “ and her her gaze brightens, “to prove once again the worth of us Huntresses of Ironhold.”

—-

There is a slight upwards twitch at the corners of Emilia’s mouth,”A of mystery is an appealing of thing. Though of more is the wish to provide to those who have asked for it. As I of imagine we will be of helping not just Lord of Aidric, but those under his watch who are likely upon of edge themselves unknowing if more will of vanish and whom it might next of be. “ A small nod comes,”It will of give opportunity to show of our skills beyond our of borders in something of other than a tournament. But we will of first find out of more and what Lord of Aidric himself has turned of up. . Though for of now, get of a good eve’s rest as you have spent much time upon of the road of late.”
